Bishop Malone names new superintendent of Catholic Schools
Bishop Richard J. Malone has appointed a new superintendent of Catholic Schools, Sister Carol Cimino, SSJ, Ed.D. Sister Carol is a national consultant, college professor and author. She will be introduced on Jan. 31 at the “Making a Difference Dinner - A Celebration of Catholic Schools,” which will be held at the Buffalo/Niagara Convention Center.
Maureen Orth to speak at Catholic education dinner
On Thursday, Jan. 31, the Diocese of Buffalo will hold its 13th annual Making a Difference Dinner for Catholic education. The dinner, held at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, will feature awards and guest speaker Maureen Orth, author and special correspondent for Vanity Fair magazine. Orth is also the wife of the late Tim Russert, former moderator of NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
East Aurora teacher to receive WNY 'Making a Difference' award
The 2013 recipient of the Sister Lucille Socciarelli/Father John Sturm Making a Difference Award is Mary Jane Liszewski, a teacher at Immaculate Conception School in East Aurora. Immaculate Conception Principal Karen Adamski submitted the following nomination letter in support of Miss Liszewski.
