Catholic Education

Catholic Education is rooted in the belief that every person is created in love by God, in His very image, for the purpose of sharing in the fullness of life with Him now and forever.

Catholic Schools and Religious Education programs of the Diocese of Buffalo prepare our children for what they are called to be, equipping them intellectually, and enriching them with a sense of justice and responsibility for others.

The Department of Catholic Education fulfills the teaching mission of the Church by providing the following services to 60 elementary schools and 15 high schools which serve approximately 21,000 students across the 8 counties of the Diocese of Buffalo.

  • Administrative Support Services
  • Curriculum
  • Policy and Planning
  • Government Programs
  • Mandated Services
  • Technology

The Office of Lifelong Faith Formation provides leadership, direction and resources for hundreds of parishes and Catholic school faith formation programs, striving to shape a unified vision of Catholic identity and faith formation.  More than 48,000 young people are served through parish-based lifelong faith formation programs throughout the Diocese of Buffalo.
